Background
After graduating with a B.A. I began learning to make
stringed musical instruments and eventually moved to Ireland where I
continued to make and restore them for thirteen years. After a few
years working in recruitment in London, in 2001 I moved to Devon and
with the intention of eventually restoring furniture, trained with the
cabinetmaker
David Savage. Since then I have worked in three local workshops, each with a slightly different approach to the restoration process.
I am currently based in a workshop shared with three other restorers in Bideford, North Devon. Although I work independently, we have over 60 years fine woodworking experience between us and constantly share ideas.
